Separator service

Service and inspection of separators are primarily services related to the control of the amount of separated hazardous waste (petroleum hydrocarbons or substances extractable with petroleum ether) and mineral substances (sludge) sedimented at the bottom of the device.

Such measurements make it possible to control the functioning of the separator. In the case of limit values, it is necessary to clean the device and transport the waste to a disposal site.

At NavoTech, we have professional equipment, thanks to which we can offer our customers a high-level separator service.

Basic maintenance services:

  • measurement of the layer thickness of light oils (petroleum hydrocarbons),
  • measurement of the thickness of the layer of mineral substances (sludge),
  • checking the condition of the coalescing (or lamella) insert,
  • control of the status of the float and auto-closing (possibly cleaning),
  • pressure cleaning of the coalescing cartridge,
  • checking the completeness of the device components.

Why separator inspections should be carried out periodically:

There are several main reasons why separators are required to be serviced on an ongoing basis.

  • 1. These devices separate substances from the wastewater such as petroleum substances, fats, suspensions which, when released into the outlet, may cause blockages in the sewage system, operational problems with subsequent devices in the sewage system, as well as contamination of the receiver.
  • 2. Fat separators are increasingly equipped with automatic closureswhich protect the outlet against the ingress of light liquids into the drain. Closing the outflow, however, causes the sewage to be damming up and blockages in the inlet sewage system. The result of such a situation is flooded street inlets or, in the case of grease separators, clogged sinks.
  • 3. Periodic inspection petroleum separators it is also a full picture of their work, based on the inspections carried out, the user has full knowledge about the operation of these devices, as well as the amount of waste collected there. This information is very important for cleaning planning and budgeting.
The performance of inspections is regulated by law. The inspection period varies depending on the type of device. All information is available in the regulations:
        • Construction law (Article 62, section 1 section 1 b),
        • Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation on substances particularly harmful to the aquatic environment and the conditions to be met when introducing sewage into waters or into the ground, as well as when discharging rainwater or meltwater into waters or water facilities (Article 17, p. .5).
  • 4. You should also remember about the technical and operational documentation, i.e. the instructions for use of each cleaning device, which contains details of the construction of the device and its operation.

Cleaning oil separators

Price of cleaning separators petroleum substances is determined on the basis of an individual assessment, taking into account the complexity and size of the task. The basic price includes the cost of travel and the disposal of sludge with a volume of up to 3m3. However, the separator cleaning service does not include repair of possible defects or technical inspection. In a situation where the volume of the utilized sludge exceeds the declared 3m3, it will be necessary to cover additional costs, which will be determined on the basis of an individual valuation.

Cleaning oil separators is a process of eliminating contaminants such as fats and oils that may be present in rainwater and meltwater from various types of catchments. These devices are often used in sectors such as gastronomy, food industry, hotel industry and various types of industrial plants.

Regular cleaning of petroleum substances separators is a requirement directly resulting from the construction law. The frequency of inspections and cleaning is specified in the water law permit of a given facility.

Separator service, separator service

Separator service is crucial to keep them working properly and efficiently. At Navotech, we offer comprehensive maintenance services for various types of separators.

A separator is a device that separates substances from sewage, such as petroleum substances, fats, suspensions, which, when released into the outlet, may cause blockages in the sewage system, operational problems with subsequent devices in the sewage system, as well as contamination of the receiver.

Why separator inspections should be carried out periodically:

  • Prevent congestion and pollution: Regular servicing of separators helps prevent blockages in the sewer and operational problems for downstream equipment, as well as contamination of the receiver.
  • Protection against the ingress of light liquids into the drain: Separators are increasingly equipped with auto-closing devices that protect the outlet against light liquids entering the drain. Closing the drain, however, causes sewage to back up and cause blockages in the inlet sewage system.
  • Full knowledge of the operation of devices: Cyclical inspection of separators is also a full picture of their work, based on the inspections carried out, the user has full knowledge about the operation of these devices, as well as the amount of waste collected there.
  • Legal Compliance: The performance of inspections is regulated by law. The inspection period varies depending on the type of device.
