Settlers

Suspension settling tanks These are objects and devices used for separating and precipitating easily settling suspensions from sewage. In the simplest sense, the operation of sedimentation tanks consists in keeping sewage in slow flow conditions, thanks to which it occurs gravitational separation of two phases: water and particles suspended in it.

Dimensioning of settlers aims to determine the required usable area, taking into account Stokes' law. The depth of the settling tank is irrelevant. Only the surface area of the settling tank is relevant in relation to the flow rate.

Application of NavoTech settling tanks:

  • separation of mineral suspensions from rainwater from roads, car parks, parking yards and technological sewage from car washes, mechanical workshops, repair shops, gas stations, from places where vehicle parts are stored, etc. Mineral suspensions such as sand, mud, ashes and parts of solid floating e.g. bags, polystyrene,
  • when separating organic suspensions, sedimenting from industrial and technological sewage in places of their excessive formation, e.g. in restaurants, mass catering outlets, meat processing plants, food processing plants, etc.

Settling tanks in the NavoTech series include:

  • PRIM – lamella settling tanks, multi-stream,
  • OK-WIR – swirl settling tanks,
  • OK – gravitational settling tanks.

PRIM lamella settling tank for mineral suspensions is a highly effective multi-stream plate settler. The sedimentation package is installed at an appropriate angle in the device. Plate sedimentation guarantees much greater efficiency in the suspension separation process. Plate decanting in a lamellar settler - works to continuously separate particles of different sizes and weights, improves the settling rate, which means that the capacity of the device can be reduced, unlike static decanting, which requires an extremely large volume tank where the settling rate is low.

PRIM lamella settling tanks for suspensions in the NavoTech offer:

  • PRIM-B sedimentation tank with a vertical axis, for underground installation, made of concrete,
  • PRIM-PE settling tank with a horizontal axis, for underground installation, made of polyethylene.

According to the project requirements, lamella settling tanks can be used for installation in traffic routes (roads, maneuvering areas 100 kN/axis) and are intended to be operated from ground level without the need to enter the interior of the device.

In the OK-WIR centrifugal sedimentation tank, sewage is supplied through a channel flowing tangentially into the chamber perimeter. The settling chamber is located in the central part in the form of a recessed funnel. During the flow of sewage, in addition to the swirl in the horizontal plane, secondary vortices are also formed in the vertical plane; the horizontal speed is different at different points depending on the distance from the center of the sand trap, which has a beneficial effect on the deposition of mineral suspensions.

OK-WIR suspension centrifugal settlers in the NavoTech offer:

  • OK-WIR-B centrifugal settling tank with a vertical axis, for underground installation, made of concrete,

Gravity clarifiers are basic devices used for the separation of easily falling suspensions with a density greater than 1g/cm³ from wastewater. In the most general terms, the operation of settling tanks consists in holding wastewater in slow-flow conditions, thanks to which there is a gravitational separation of two phases: water and particles suspended in it. When designing, the retention time, settling tank surfaces and grain size curve of the incoming mineral suspension should be taken into account.

  • OK-PZ gravity settling tank with a horizontal axis, for underground installation, made of polyethylene,
  • OK-PN gravity settling tank with a vertical axis, for underground installation, made of polyethylene.

According to the project requirements, gravity settling tanks can be used for installation in communication routes (roads, maneuvering areas 100 kN/axis) and are intended to be operated from ground level without the need to enter the interior of the device.

INFORMATION MATERIALS

Settlement tanks offered by Navotech are a key element in advanced wastewater treatment systems, ensuring highly effective separation of easily settling suspensions. Our range includes three main types of sedimentation tanks: PRIM, OK-WIR and OK, each designed to meet specific process requirements and optimize treatment efficiency.

Application

  • PRIM plate settling tanks: represent a modern solution in the form of multi-stream plate settlers. Their unique design guarantees significantly higher efficiency in the separation of suspensions such as mud, thanks to the use of specially designed plates that maximize the settling area.
  • OK-WIR mud settling tanks: are distinguished by the presence of a sedimentation chamber located centrally, in the form of a recessed funnel part. This solution is particularly beneficial for the deposition of mineral suspensions and mud, where the vortex force supports the separation process.
  • OK sewage settling tanks:  are basic devices designed for the effective separation of easily settling suspensions from sewage. Their simple but effective design makes them indispensable in many standard wastewater treatment applications.

Advantages of settlers

Our settling tanks, including mud settling tanks, are characterized by exceptional durability and resistance to aggressive environmental conditions. Made of C35/45 class concrete or using structural, double-walled PE-HD pipes with high peripheral stiffness, they guarantee long-term use without the need to apply additional protective coatings or perform maintenance procedures. This design ensures not only resistance to corrosion, but also to mechanical damage.

Additionally, our settling tanks are designed for easy integration with existing infrastructure. They can be used for installation in communication routes, such as roads or maneuvering areas, withstanding loads up to 100 kN/axle. They are designed so that they can be operated from the ground, eliminating the need to enter the interior of the device, which increases safety and comfort of work.

Individual approach

At Navotech, we understand that each wastewater treatment project is unique, which is why we offer settling tanks, including mud settling tanks, in a variety of configurations and sizes. Thanks to this, we are able to adapt our solutions to the individual needs of each client, ensuring optimization of purification processes and maximizing operational efficiency. Our experience and commitment to providing high-quality solutions make us a trusted partner in the field of wastewater treatment.
